Practical use with the Floater~Doser
Trough dosing for 2–3 days, repeat every 5–6 weeks.<br />The Floater~Doser system makes mineral supplementation straightforward. Simply add the correct amount of Mighty-Min® to your water trough, and let the system work naturally. This page provides practical guidance for effective use.
Recommended procedure
- Count the number of animals to be supplemented.
- Use the quick calculation chart below to determine the volume of Mighty-Min® required.
- Pour the measured volume into the Floater~Doser.
- Top with clean water to the red line on the drum.
- Place the Floater~Doser in the water trough.
- Allow stock to drink normally over the 2–3 day supplementation period.
- Remove, rinse, and store the unit until the next cycle.
- Repeat every 5–6 weeks, or as advised by your nutritionist or vet.
- Monitor stock regularly and adjust timing or rate if needed.
Treatment timing
Mighty-Min® is normally supplied in periodic 2–3 day windows. The interval between treatments depends on stocking rate, class of animal, and the nutrition programme on your farm. A typical cycle is every 5–6 weeks, but this may be adjusted based on seasonal conditions, production stage, or veterinary advice. Do not run the Floater~Doser continually unless advised to do so as part of a specific programme.
Use this table to calculate the volume of Mighty-Min® required for your herd or flock
| Animal type | Number of head | Mighty-Min® 8.5 (mL) | Mighty-Min® 6.5 (mL) | Mighty-Min® Zero Copper (mL) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dairy cows (lactating) | 10 | 200–250 | 260–325 | 260–325 |
| Dairy cows (dry) | 10 | 150–200 | 195–260 | 195–260 |
| Beef cattle (adult) | 10 | 150–200 | 195–260 | 195–260 |
| Youngstock (6–18 months) | 10 | 100–150 | 130–195 | 130–195 |

| Sheep (lambs) | 50 | 0 | 130–195 | 130–195 |
Note: Use the higher rate in hot weather, for lactating cows, or fast-growing youngstock. Use the lower rate in cool conditions or for low-yielding animals. If using other mineral sources on farm, consult your nutritionist or vet before increasing the rate above the standard range.
Flexible formulation options for cattle and sheep.
Mighty-Min® 6.5 is suitable for all ruminants and provides balanced mineral support for both cattle and sheep. Mighty-Min® Zero Copper offers the same mineral system without added copper, making it suitable for flocks and mixed grazing systems where farmers prefer not to provide any copper supplementation to sheep, a common position among British producers.

Higher copper formulation for cattle in low-copper regions.
Mighty-Min® 8.5 provides a higher copper (Cu) level and is designed for cattle only. It is suitable for regions where copper deficiency, or copper antagonism in pasture or feed, means cattle require additional copper support. Mighty-Min® 8.5 follows the same mineral principles as the other Mighty-Min® formulations but must not be used for sheep.
